CCC CHAMPIONSHIP: Women's Volleyball Falls To Wentworth In Five Sets

BOSTON, Mass.  — The Endicott women's volleyball team was defeated in the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Championship by Wentworth, 3-2, with scores of 25-23, 18-25, 15-25, 25-20, and 13-15.

Three Gulls paced the attack in the contest with double-digit kills, as Julia Giroux (Bedford N.H.) led the way with 19 kills. Hadley Helenbrook (Atlanta, Ga.) ecorded a double-double as she went for 12 putaways and 15 digs while Megan Murphy (Danvers, Mass.) recorded 10 kills.

Savannah Cambell (Soquel, Calif.) facilitated the offense with 19 assists in the match and led the Gulls with three service aces.. Haley Weiner (Southington, Conn.) added 18 assists .

Defensively, Emma Ruel (Duxbury, Mass.) led the Gulls with 16 digs on the backline and added four assists. At the front of the net, five Gulls had two or more blocks as Murphy led the way with seven as Talia Camacho (Franklin Square, N.Y.) was right behind with six.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • The Gulls have competed in the CCC Championship in six of the last seven seasons.
  • The Blue and Green still lead the all-time series, 25-2.
  • The match featured 23 ties (7-3-3-3-7) and 15 lead changes (5-3-1-1-5).
  • Career-high 10 kills for Murphy.

WHAT'S NEXT

Wentworth (23-5) now awaits the NCAA DIII Women's Volleyball Tournament Selection Show which is scheduled for Monday, November 13 at 1 PM to find out their next opponent. Endicott (15-14) sees its season come to a close.
