BEVERLY, Mass. – The Endicott women's volleyball team defeated Wheaton (Mass.), 3-2, by scores of 25-16, 25-16, 30-32, 23-25, and 15-11 on Thursday night at MacDonald Gymnasium.
Tonight's match featured 36 ties (4-2-14-13-3) and 14 lead changes (3-1-4-4-2) before all was said and done.
Julia Giroux (Bedford, N.H.), Hadley Helenbrook (Atlanta, Ga.), and Savannah Cambell (Soquel, Calif.) all compiled double-doubles (12 kills, 16 digs | 13 kills, 11 digs | 25 assists, 11 digs) to highlight the Gulls.
Krystina Schueler (Trumbull, Conn.) paced the team with 18 putaways (.308 hitting percentage), while Emma Ruel (Duxbury, Mass.) stymied the Lyons' attack with a match-high-tying 22 digs.
Haley Weiner (Southington, Conn.) also helped facilitate the offense with 25 assists (.424).
In the fifth set, Endicott trailed 10-5, but rallied behind kills from Stephanie Moreau (Methuen, Mass.), Giroux, and Kelsey Sanborn (Londonderry, N.H.) to cut into the deficit at 10-8.
Moreau and Sanborn followed with a block assist to make it 10-9 before a Wheaton attack error and another kill from Moreau forced a Lyons' timeout with the hosts leading 11-10.
Out of the break, Giroux buried three kills (12-10, 13-11, 15-11), while Moreau notched a service ace at 14-11 to put the match away for the Gulls.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Endicott is 9-4 all-time against the Lyons (four-match win streak).
- Tonight's contest marked the second time the two programs have played to five sets (EC, W, 9/23/21).
- Helenbrook went a perfect 20-of-20 on serve-receive.
- Moreau finished with a match-high five block assists.

Endicott (12-13) visits Western New England on Saturday, November 4 at 11 AM. Wheaton (13-13) travels to WPI this Saturday at 1 PM.
