ENDICOTT WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL ALL-AMERICA HISTORY
LEXINGTON, Ky. - Endicott women's volleyball senior middle Colleen McAvoy (Coventry, Conn.) has been selected to the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) All-America Third Team, becoming the first member in program history to earn All-American accolades. Joining her with 2021 All-America accolades were Amanda Gilbert (Hopkinton, Mass.), and Krystina Schueler (Trumbull, Conn.), as both were named AVCA DIII All-America Honorable Mention.
McAvoy becomes the first student-athlete ever to be named to one of the three AVCA All-America teams in program history, while Gilbert and Shueler become the eighth and ninth to receive Honorable Mention nods for the program. The three accolades in a single season represent a new program record, as Endicott had set the previous high of two, twice (2018, 2019).

For McAvoy, the honor comes following a season in which she set a program record with her .412 hitting percentage, finishing with 218 kills and just 49 errors on 410 attempts. Her 218 kills were good for third on the team, as were her 2.04 kills/set, while her total blocks of 78 and blocks/set average of .73 were second-best on the team.
Against nationally-ranked foes, the senior led the entire roster with her .370 average, finishing with a 41-11-81 line, averaging 2.05 kills/set and .55 blocks/set, while posting a 94-36-243 (.374) line and .73 blocks/set against regionally-ranked opponents on the season. The Coventry, Conn. native was dominant against Endicott's top competition, highlighted by her 14 kills on 26 swings with no errors (.538) in the team's 3-2 setback to AVCA No. 3 Trinity (Tex.) on Oct. 8. During a three-week stretch that saw the Gulls take on six regionally or nationally-ranked teams, McAvoy posted a 56-11-104 line for a team-leading .433 average as Endicott went 3-3 over that stretch, including wins over Tufts (3-2) and No. 22 Babson (3-2).

The Hopkinton, Mass. native finished the year with nine double-double performances, which includes a season-high 21 kills in the CCC Championship over Roger Williams, before she capped her campaign with a 16 kill, 13 dig performance in the NCAA Tournament against Babson. Against regionally ranked opponents, Gilbert twice recorded her high of 16 kills against Babson; once in a 3-2 win, and once in a 3-2 setback.
