Women’s Volleyball Falls To Middlebury & Clarkson On Saturday

MIDDLEBURY, Vt. – The Endicott women's volleyball team lost a pair of matches to Middlebury (3-1) and Clarkson (3-0) on Saturday evening at Pepin Gymnasium.

MIDDLEBURY 3, ENDICOTT 1 (25-21, 11-25, 16-25, 15-25)

Colleen McAvoy (Coventry, Conn.) and Carley Gagnon (Goffstown, N.H.) paced the Gulls in kills with seven apiece.

Endicott also saw Riley Donahue (South Windsor, Conn.) and Meghan Frederick (Sunapee, N.H.) register six kills, while Lauren McGrath (Franklin, Mass.) ran the majority of the offense via 26 assists.

After falling to the Gulls in set one, Middlebury respond with a .619 (13k-0e-29ta) hitting percentage in the second frame and rode that momentum the rest of the way to the victory.


CLARKSON 3, ENDICOTT 0 (18-25, 21-25, 27-29)

Donahue and Krystina Schueler (Trumbull, Conn.) guided the offense with 11 and 10 kills, respectively.

Meanwhile, defensively, Alexandra Tecun (Hawthorne, Calif.) chipped in with 12 digs to give her 22 digs total on the day between the two matches.


McGrath also recorded her third double-double of the season with 19 assists and 10 digs.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORES

  • Endicott saw its five-match winning streak snapped.
  • The Gulls are 3-3 on the road this year (1-2 in neutral site matches).
  • Today was Endicott's first-ever meeting against Clarkson.
