Women’s Track & Field Claims First-Ever CCC Championship

WENHAM, Mass. – The Endicott women's track and field team captured its first Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Championship in program history on Saturday afternoon at the Brigham Athletic Complex, hosted by Gordon College.

Endicott topped the field with 166 points, which ranks as the third-highest point total in meet history since the CCC granted the sport championship status in 2018 – the same year as the inaugural season for the sport at the College.

The Gulls did so by scoring points in the following events: jumps (45), hurdles (34), sprints (28), distance (23), throws (20), and relays (16).

In total, the squad produced six first place finishes, five runner-up placements, seven third place performances, three CCC records, 16 personal records, and seven school records to secure the championship.

Following Endicott on the team standings were Suffolk (142), University of New England (118), Roger Williams (84), Gordon (53), Salve Regina (20), and Nichols (4).

Student-athletes who place first (gold medalist), second (silver medalist), or third (bronze medalist) in an event earn All-Conference First Team, Second Team, and Third Team honors.

Additionally, the seven CCC head coaches will vote on major postseason awards next week. Following the voting period, the conference will recognize a Runner of the Year, Rookie Runner of the Year, Field Performer of the Year, Field Rookie of the Year, and a CCC Scholar-Athlete. Coaches will also vote on winners for Coach of the Year and Team Sportsmanship.
