D3 NEW ENGLANDS: Del Maestro, DMR Break School Records On Day One

BRIGHTON, Mass. — The Endicott women's track and field team broke two school records at the NCAA Division III New England Championships on Friday night at the TRACK at new balance.

Bianca Del Maestro (Malden, Mass.) punched her ticket into the 60-meter hurdle finals to highlight the Gulls' efforts on day one of the championships.

Del Maestro dashed her way to a fourth place finish in the prelims behind a school record time of 8.99-seconds, which ranks 33rd overall nationally in D3.

It also marks the fifth time Del Maestro has broken her own school record in the event this season.

Del Maestro started the indoor campaign by posting a time of 9.53-seconds at the Sharon Colyear-Danville Invitational (12/3/22).

She followed that performance up with back-to-back school records of 9.41 (prelims) and 9.40 (finals) at the Hampshire College Black Sheep Invitational (2/11/23) before shattering the mark once again with a time of 9.21 at the Wheaton (Mass.) College Pre-Post Invitational (2/18/23).

Del Maestro's school record to start the year was 9.84-seconds.

Meanwhile, the distance medley relay (DMR) consisting of Allie Devoe (Ridgefield, Conn.), Brianna am Ende (East Lyme, Conn.), Hannah Risko (Albany, N.Y.), and Hannah Shepard (Keene, N.H.) dismantled the school record in the event by more than 1:20.

The Gulls' DMR lineup finished 20th overall with a time of 13:25.93, breaking the mark of 14:48.85 set on 2/19/22.

Risko and am Ende also ran legs on the previous school record.

Rounding out the list of highlights for Endicott on the night was the 4x200-meter relay team of Jordan Williams (Boxford, Mass.), Nicole Woo (Newton, Mass.), Sarah Aylwin (Topsfield, Mass.), and Colleen McLaughlin (Ipswich, Mass.).

The quartet ranked 19th overall via a time of 1:52.93.
