BALTIMORE, MD. — The Endicott women's tennis team defeated Nazareth, 6-0, in the First Round of the NCAA Tournament, on Friday afternoon at Johns Hopkins.
The win marks Endicott's first in the NCAA tournament since the 2014-15 season.
The Gulls made a clean sweep of doubles play only dropping five total games, as Gretta Hartman (Glastonbury, Conn.) and Fernanda Trevino (Dallas, Texas) rolled to an 8-1 win at No. 1, Justine Hoover (Wallingford, Conn.) and Ashley Keaveney (Exeter, N.H.) secured an 8-2 triumph at No. 2, and Olivia Berler (Marstons Mills, Mass.) and Shelby Henry (Lincoln, Neb.) earned an 8-2 victory at No. 3.
Then in singles play the Gulls needed just two victories. The first came from Clare O'Keefe (Lutz, Fla.) who pitched a 6-0, 6-0 shutout at No. 6, then, Trevino (No. 5) and Keaveney (No. 3) finished simultaneously each winning 6-0, 6-0 clinching the match for the Gulls.

WHAT'S NEXT
Endicott (10-0) will face off against No. 11 nationally ranked Tufts, in the second round, on Saturday, May 15 at 2 PM.
Nazareth sees their season come to an end at 8-1.
