Endicott Athletics Prioritizes Community Service In First Semester

BEVERLY, Mass. — With the absence of intercollegiate competition, the Endicott Athletics & Recreation Department has put their time to good use by participating in several community service projects. Here's a look at what the Gulls were up to during the first semester.

Endicott Athletics programs totaled 1,078 hours of community service during the months of September, October, and November. The multiple projects included Habitat for Humanity, The Pledge 100 Walk for Cancer, The Halloween Spooktacular 5k, ALS Ice Buckey Challenge, Mustache Madness, and multiple programs on campus.

Additionally, multiple athletics programs have spent time with their Team IMPACT and You're With Us teammates on and off-campus, and on Zoom.

COMMUNITY SERVICE HIGHLIGHTS

Field hockey and women's ice hockey student-athlete Jenna Seibold (Reading, Mass.) raised over $15,000 with her daily polar plunge for the Travis Roy Foundation. Seibold has been highlighted for her work by the United States College Hockey Online (USCHO) and by Boston 25 News.

Meanwhile, the softball program was highlighted in a Team IMPACT feature produced by and aired on the New England Sports Network (NESN). The feature highlighted the relationship between our Gulls and Team IMPACT teammate Kendall Weinburg

Men's Lacrosse raised over $20,000 for the HEADstrong Foundation during their mustache madness campaign. This cause was all the more personal for the Gulls this year as one of their own — junior Will Levine (Southborough, Mass.) — was diagnosed with Large B-cell non-Hodgkin's lymphoma in the fall.

Lastly, the Endicott field hockey program walked a total of 5,566 miles to honor Wesley College student-athlete Alexis Howerin (Dover, Del.) who was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. Earlier this week, Alexis reached a pivotal moment in her fight against cancer stating in a video to the Wesley College community that she was cancer-free after five weeks of radiation.

COMMUNITY SERVICE AT ENDICOTT
