SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - The Endicott women's soccer team traveled to Springfield to take on the Pride and fell 3-1. Springfield was able to put together a three goal second half to turn the table and claim the victory.

Endicott got out to a quick start as Sharlotte Pernice (West Springfield, Mass.) posted her third goal of the season in the sixth minute of play. Her tally, at the 5:13 mark, was unassisted, and now ties her with Mary Verneris (Hamden, Conn.) for the team lead in goals and points (6).

Pernice's goal would stand at half as the only offense either team was able to muster as Endicott held a 1-0 advantage after 45 minutes of play.

The second half would be a completely different story as the Pride would post three tallies in the frame.

Springfield's first strike came from Kim Quiles (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.) just 49 seconds into the second half as Mary Silva (Ludlow, Mass.) registered the assist. Quiles would strike again in the 63rd minute minute to give the Pride a 2-1 edge. Quiles' second of the day was assisted by Monique Marcelino (Farmington, Conn.). The home squad would add one more as Sara Swetland (Manchester, N.H.) buried a feed from Ally Morrell (New Britain, Conn.) to end the scoring at 3-1.

BEYOND THE BOX

Kristin Hartlage (Niskayuna, N.Y.) made 10 saves on 13 shots in the setback. Her 10 save effort is a new career-high in a single match.

During the brief three match series between the two programs, the home team has won all three contests with Springfield holding the slight 2-1 advantage in the series.

FOR THE FOES

Ciara Boucher (Manchester, Conn.) made five saves on six shots to claim her fourth win of the season.

Quiles' two goals give her three for the season, the highest total on the team.
