CCC QUARTERFINALS: No. 1 Endicott Set To Host No. 8 Curry On Saturday

BEVERLY, Mass. – For the first time since 2013, the Endicott women's soccer team heads into postseason play as the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) regular-season champion, which earns them the No. 1 seed in the CCC tournament.

THE MATCHUP

Endicott finished the regular season with an overall record of 12-4-1 while going undefeated in CCC play, finishing with a record of 8-0-1. The women will host eighth-seeded Curry on Saturday, October 28 at 4:30 p.m. in Hempstead Stadium. When the two teams met in the regular season just two weeks ago, Endicott was able to claim a 4-0 victory (recap here).

POSTSEASON HISTORY 

Endicott has qualified for the CCC Tournament every year since joining the conference back in 1999. The women have claimed nine conference titles over that 18 year span, the last of which came in the 2013 season. With head coach Jodi Keyon at the helm, Endicott has produced a 187-69-24 record overall, including a conference record of 116-17-5, and five CCC titles in her 13 year tenure.

The Gulls come into the CCC quarterfinal round after a 1-0 victory over Salve Regina on Wednesday that ended the regular season. Leading the team with 35 points (14 G, 7 A) is Rachel Hanna (Chelmsford, Mass.), while Mary Verneris (Hamden, Conn.) finished with 23 (11 G, 1 A).

NO. 8 CURRY (8-8-3, 1-6-2 CCC) | STATISTICS | SCHEDULE

The Colonels enter the CCC Quarterfinals after a 3-0 loss to Wentworth ended their regular season. They are led by Korrina Tsonis who finished with 13 points (5 G, 3 A) on the season.

WHAT'S NEXT 

The winner of the contest will move onto the CCC semifinals, which will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 1 at the highest remaining seeds. The championship game will take place on Saturday, Nov. 4 and the CCC Tournament champion will earn an automatic bid to the NCAA Division III tournament.
