No. 1 Endicott Set to Host No. 4 Gordon in CCC Semifinals on Wednesday

BEVERLY, Mass. – The top-seeded Endicott women's soccer team has advanced to the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Semifinals for the third straight season, and the 17th time since joining the CCC 18 years ago.

THE MATCHUP

Endicott currently have an overall record of 13-4-1 while they finished the regular season with a conference record of 8-0-1. In the regular season meeting between these two teams, the Gulls claimed a 5-2 victory at home as Mary Verneris led the way with two goals, one coming via a penalty kick (recap here).

POSTSEASON HISTORY 

Endicott has qualified for the CCC Tournament every year since joining the conference back in 1999. The women have claimed nine conference titles over that 18 year span, the last of which came in the 2013 season. With head coach Jodi Keyon at the helm, Endicott has produced a 187-69-24 record overall, including a conference record of 116-17-5, and five CCC titles in her 13 year tenure.

NO. 1 ENDICOTT (13-4-1, 8-0-1 CCC) | STATISTICS | SCHEDULE

The women advanced to the CCC Semifinals following a 6-2 win over #8 Curry on Saturday in the Quarterfinal round. Sharlotte Pernice and Mary Verneris each scored twice, while Rachel Hanna and Claire Shields scored once each. The Gulls are led by Hanna's 15 goal campaign while Verneris has posted 13 on the season.

NO. 4 GORDON (10-4-2, 6-2-1 CCC) | STATISTICS | SCHEDULE

The Fighting Scots advanced to the CCC Semifinal round after knocking off #5 Wentworth 2-1 on Saturday after Devin Lacroix and Lexi Potter each scored once. Potter leads all Scots with eight goals while Asha Steele has seven.

WHAT'S NEXT 

The winner of the contest will move onto the CCC Championship, which will be held on Saturday, Nov. 4 at the highest remaining seed. The winner of that match will earn an automatic bid to the NCAA Division III tournament.
