Rachel Hanna’s First Career Hat-Trick Buries Eastern Nazarene, 7-0

BEVERLY, Mass. – Rachel Hanna's (Chelmsford, Mass.) first career hat-trick lifted the Endicott women's soccer team to a 7-0 conference victory over Eastern Nazarene on a foggy and muggy Saturday at Hempstead Stadium.

Hanna's career day started quickly as the senior forward found the back of the net just 11:07 into the contest for her fourth goal of the season. She then followed up that strike with a header goal off a corner – assisted by teammate Hannah Pesci (Windham, N.H.) – and later completed the hat-trick in the 51st minute after Mary Verneris (Hamden, Conn.) and Pesci both potted tallies (29:41 | 46:58).

Meanwhile, Larissa Cade (Middlefield, Conn.) and Katie Williams (East Hampton, Conn.) rounded out the scoring with goals at 54:20 and 78:42, respectively.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • Hanna's hat-trick marks the first three-goal game for the Gulls since Jessica Joseph (Bedford, N.H.) notched the feat on October 26, 2013 in an 8-1 win over the University of New England.
  • Endicott has outscored its opponents 17-7 in five games this season.
  • The Gulls lead the all-time series against Eastern Nazarene, 17-1-1.
  • Shelby Elwell (Litchfield, Conn.) stopped one shot in the win (2-0-0) for her first career clean sheet.

FOR THE FOES

  • Kyera Bryant (Guilford, Conn.) made eight saves in the loss, her first in the season (3-1-0).
  • Victoria Hern (Salem, N.H.) logged the Lions only shot on goal in the matchup.
