Sarah Person Earns Second All-Region Award with ECAC Nod

2013 ECAC Division III New England Women's Soccer All-Stars

CENTERVILLE, Mass. - After being named to the NSCAA New England All-Region Second Team back on December 4th, Endicott senior women's soccer defender Sarah Person (Holden, Mass.) collected her second all-region award this season by being named to the ECAC Division III New England First Team.  Person anchored a Gulls back line that delivered the program's 10th conference championship and sixth appearance into at least the Second Round of the NCAA Tournament.

Person, a CCC First Team Defender, Senior Scholar-Athlete of the Year, and team captain, helped Endicott to a 16-6-2 record in the 2013 season following their Second Round game against NCAA semifinalist Middlebury.  The Gulls went 8-1 against conference opportunities during the regular season this fall resulting in Endicott earning the #1 seed in the CCC Tournament and home field advantage throughout the playoffs.

Endicott's trip to the CCC Championship, however, was no easy task with the quarterfinals, semifinals, and finals all going into overtime periods.  Person and her Endicott teammates stymied the opposition with just one goal allowed in three matches.

Person, who registered two assists during the season, delivered what could be seen as the most critical offensive moment of the season as her successful try in the fourth round of penalty kicks against Gordon in the CCC Championship handed Endicott their first title since 2009.

Person is the program's sixth ECAC All-Star in program history, joining Caitlin Peters '13 (3), Colleen Pepin '12, and Caitlyn Flynn '10.
