Big Second Half Propels Women’s Lacrosse Past St. Lawrence, 17-9

BEVERLY, Mass. — The Endicott women's lacrosse team defeated St. Lawrence, 17-9, on Friday evening at Hempstead Stadium.

After a first half which saw the Gulls lead 6-5, Endicott exploded for 11 goals in the second half.

Leading the way offensively for the Gulls was Morgan Pike (Shapleigh, Maine) with five goals and one assist.

Meanwhile, both Katie Schenk (Southbury, Conn.), and Katy Garvin (Mansfield, Mass.) had three goals, while Katie Wagner (Brewster, N.Y.), Kiana Napolitano (Revere, Mass.), Julia Lantieri (Glastonbury, Conn.), Gabriella Prisco (West Haven, Conn.), Maya Feigenbaum (West Hartford, Conn.) and Carly Pierce (Exeter, N.H.) each scored once.

In net, Alexandra Rose (East Lyme, Conn.) made nine saves to improve to 3-0.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • Tonight was the first matchup between the two sides.
  • Wagner led the Gulls with four assists in the victory.
  • The Gulls opened the second half on a 7-2 run.
  • After St. Lawrence scored at 25:05 in the second half Endicott was strong defensively holding the Saints scoreless for just over 19 minutes.
  • Pierce's goal was the first of her career.

WHAT'S NEXT

Endicott (3-0) will travel to MIT on Wednesday, March 11 for a 4 PM contest. St. Lawrence (0-1) will travel to Worcester State University on Saturday, March 7 at 1 PM.
