Men's Soccer Downs Suffolk On Senior Day, 4-1

BEVERLY, Mass. – The Endicott men's soccer team defeated Suffolk, 4-1, on Senior Day at Hempstead Stadium.

Prior to the match, seniors Charles Badji (Dakar, Senegal), Matthew Cronin (Glastonbury, Conn.), and Connor Ross (Atkinson, N.H.) were all honored for their contributions to the program and the Endicott community.

As for the contest, Joe Cusack (Foxboro, Mass.) broke a 1-1 tie in the 69th minute when he rifled home a loose ball just inside the 18 for his first of the season.

Endicott was able to extend its lead even further following back-to-back strikes from Cole Elgin (Franklin Lakes, N.J.) and Joe Mepham (Sudbury, Mass.) at 80:08 and 80:17, respectively, to send the Blue and Green home with a win. 

Meanwhile, in net, Kyle Rosa (Norton, Mass.) recorded eight saves to help secure the victory (1-1-1). 

BEYOND THE BOX

  • Cole Fergusson (South Salem, N.Y.) netted his first career goal at the 32:38 mark of the contest to give the Gulls an early 1-0 lead.
  • Endicott earned its first win in program history over Suffolk (1-2-0). 
  • Cusack notched his first collegiate goal.
  • Rosa registered his first career win.
  • Endicott is 4-1-0 when coming off a loss this season. 

WHAT'S NEXT 

Endicott (5-6-1, 4-1-1 CCC) welcomes the University of New England (1-11-1, 0-5-0) to Hempstead Stadium on Wednesday at 4 PM for its final game home at The Nest. Suffolk (7-6-1, 3-3 CCC) hosts Wentworth (7-7, 2-3 CCC) on Wednesday, October 20 at 7 PM.
