Men's Soccer Falls To Wheaton (Mass.), 4-1

BEVERLY, Mass. — The Endicott men's soccer team lost to Wheaton (Mass.), 4-1, on Sunday afternoon at Hempstead Stadium.

Joe Mepham (Sudbury, Mass) scored the lone goal for the Gulls at 20:14 via a penalty kick, which tied the game up at 1-1, at the time.

Robert Llyod (Lexington, Mass.)Ryan Bell (Wayne, Pa.)Luca De Castro Novaes (Scarsdale, N.Y.), and Alberto Franceschi (Caracas, Venezuela) all found the back of the net for the Lyons in the victory.

Meanwhile, Endicott freshman goalkeeper Kyle Rosa (Norton, Mass) notched six saves in his second career start. 

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • Mepham tallied his first career collegiate goal.
  • Rosa has compiled 14 saves in his first two starts (eight vs. St. Joseph's (Me.) on 9/3/2021).
  • Today's match was only the fifth-ever meeting between the two programs (based upon available data).

WHAT'S NEXT

The Gulls (0-1-1) visit WPI (1-0-0) on Saturday, September 11 at 12 PM. Please note, all fans attending next Saturday's match at WPI are required to wear masks, per WPI's facility policy.

Wheaton (2-1-0) will welcome Roger Williams (0-0-2) to its campus next Saturday at 2 PM.
