BOSTON, Mass. – The Endicott men's soccer team defeated Wentworth, 3-2, in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action on Saturday evening at Sweeney Field.
Tied 2-2 late in the second half, Jason Brodeur (Hanson, Mass.) headed home a throw-in at the right post from Ryan Archer (Newburyport, Mass.) into the lower left corner of the net to give the Gulls the late lead (85:50).
From there, Endicott did not allow Wentworth to record a shot thanks to a gritty defensive effort to secure the win.
The Gulls led 2-0 at halftime behind goals from Codan Foley (Carver, Mass.) and Joe Mepham (Sudbury, Mass.), but Wentworth responded with tallies at 47:52 and 70:04 to even up the contest, and set the stage for Brodeur's heroics.
Zach Regulbuto (Somers, Conn.) stopped four shots to move to 2-2-1 on the season.
