SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Freshman guard John Henault (Lunenburg, Mass.) helped the Gulls men’s basketball team earn their fifth straight win to end the regular season as Endicott claimed the \#3 seed in the upcoming Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Tournament.
Henault averaged 13.5 points and 4.0 rebounds in two Endicott victories while capping off the 2011-12 regular season ranked third in the CCC in three-point field goal percentage (40.8) overall and first among league freshman. For his efforts, Henault for the second time this season was named CCC Rookie of the Week marking the sixth time out of 12 chances that an Endicott freshman earned the honor this season.
Henault opened up the week with 16 points and three rebounds in a 68-57 win over the University of New England on Senior Night. He was 6-of-11 shooting including 3-of-6 from beyond the arc. This past Saturday, the Gulls handed Eastern Nazarene a 87-76 defeat on their own court with Henault chipping in with 11 points and five boards. Four of his five rebounds were on the offensive glass.
For the week, Henault shot 46.0% from both the field and three-point range (10-of-22, 5-of-11 3PT) with two assists.
Henault and the Gulls will host \#6 Roger Williams on Tuesday night, February 21st in MacDonald Gymnasium at 8:00 pm in the CCC Quarterfinals.
