SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Highly-decorated as a high school player at St. Bernard’s, where he became the school’s all-time leading scorer with 1,457 career points, Endicott freshman guard John Henault (Lunenburg, Mass.) earned his first piece of collegiate hardware as he was named this week’s CCC Rookie of the Week.

Henault led the Gulls to a 2-0 record this week after victories over North Shore rival Salem State last Wednesday and league foe Western New England over the weekend.  Henault averaged 15.5 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 2.5 assists in the two contests.  He currently scores at 13.2 points per game clip through Endicott’s (7-3) first 10 games of the season.

The Blue and Green opened up the 2012 portion of their schedule against Salem State, who was coming off just a three-point loss to the top-ranked Middlebury a week earlier.  Henault dropped 19 points on the Vikings on 6-of-14 shooting, including four three-pointers, in a 93-89 Endicott triumph.  He added four rebounds, three of which were on the offensive glass, two assists and a block in 31 minutes on the court.

In a 20-point victory over Western New England this past Saturday, Henault made in five games in-a-row with at least 10 points as the freshman scores 12 on 4-of-9 from the field, all of which came from beyond the arc.  He added three rebounds, two assists, and a steal in Endicott’s third straight victory.

Henault and the Gulls look to continue their winning ways on Tuesday, January 10th with a road, conference contest against Nichols (2-8) starting at 7:30 pm in Dudley.
