CCC CHAMPIONS! Endicott Tops UNE, 1-0, To Win Conference Title

BEVERLY, Mass. – The Endicott field hockey team captured its third Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) championship in program history on Saturday at North Field with a 1-0 win over the University of New England (UNE).

Deadlocked at 0-0 with under seven minutes to play, Gulls junior forward Julie Champigny (Acton, Mass.) scored the eventual game-winning goal with 6:12 remaining in the contest to dethrone the four-time defending CCC Champion Nor'easters (2014-17).

UNE didn't go away quietly down the stretch, however, as Endicott also needed a defensive save from Cameron Molinare (Simsbury, Conn.) at 67:42 and two saves by Taylor Farrin (Danvers, Mass.) – including one that came with 20-seconds left to play in the matchup – to secure the victory.

Endicott dominated the majority of play outshooting UNE, 26-7, while also producing a 15-2 differential in penalty corners. Farrin finished the contest with three saves in the win (16-4), while UNE goalie Liz Sargent (South Burlington, Vt.) was forced to make 10 saves in the loss (12-10).
