BEVERLY, Mass. - The Endicott field hockey team welcomed Gordon College to North Field for the first Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) matchup of the season and the Gulls came away with an 8-0 victory.
The Gulls exploded for six goals in the first half of play. Leading the way for Endicott in the first frame was Julie Champigny (Acton, Mass.) who found the back of the net twice. Also, notching goals were Jaylin Grabau (Lynnfield, Mass.), Kristen McCarthy (Danvers, Mass.), Lauren Whitney (Poway, Calif.), and Elizabeth Stark (Beverly Farms, Mass.).
Endicott continued to keep the offensive pressure high in the second half and saw goals from Blake Braman (Clinton, Conn.) and Sydney Poulin (Watertown, Mass.) to round out the night's scoring.
Taylor Farrin (Danvers, Mass) recorded one save to improve to 4-1 on the season and earned her seventh career shutout.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Endicott held a 38-6 shot advantage throughout the game.
- Champigny led the Endicott offense with two goals on the night, while McCarthy and Grabau each tallied a goal and an assist.
- The Gulls are now 20-8 all-time against Gordon.
- Jasmine Rosa (Mohegan Lake, N.Y.) and Julia Altman (Hopkinton, Mass.) both saw action in the net for the Fighting Scots. Rosa recorded two saves while Altman stopped 10 shots.
WHAT'S NEXT
Endicott (4-1, 1-0 CCC) travels to Roger Williams for a CCC contest on Saturday, September 15 at 1 PM. Gordon (2-5, 0-1 CCC) is on the road at Nichols on Saturday, September 15 at 11 AM.
