2013 ECAC DIII New England All-Stars

CENTERVILLE, Mass. – After posting a 9-1 overall record with a sub-2.00 earned run average this past spring for an Endicott baseball team that reached the NCAA Division III Regional Tournament Championship, Gulls senior pitcher Tyler Hitchcock (Abington, Mass.) was recognized as a First Team All-New England All-Star by the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC).

Hitchcock, already established as the program's first-ever All-America honoree by D3Baseball.com, guided the Blue and Green to the program's first Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Championship and NCAA Tournament appearance since the 2006 season.  During the playoff season Hitchcock appeared in five games, starting three of them, and went 2-1 with a 3.12 ERA and 13 strikeouts in 26.0 innings pitched.  Opposing hitters batted just .215 against the Endicott righty.

During the regular season, Hitchcock rose above all other CCC pitchers with a 7-0 record, a 1.25 ERA, and 27 strikeouts compared to just 10 walks in 50.1 innings on the mound.  He totaled five complete games, including a shutout over league rival Western New England on April 7th.  Hitchcock was named Pitcher of the Year by the conference for his efforts.

Hitchcock wrapped up his senior campaign by accumulated several postseason accolades including CCC Pitcher of the Year, All-CCC First Team, D3Baseball.com All-New England First Team, New England Intercollegiate Baseball Association (NEIBA) All-New England Second Team, NEIBA Senior All-Star Team, ECAC DIII New England All-New England First Team and D3Baseball.com All-America Third Team.

As a team, Endicott finished their memorable 2013 season as the 19th ranked team in the nation and #2 in the New England region.
