Oringer Named CCC Player of the Week for Florida Effort

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Endicott College second baseman Harry Oringer (Dartmouth, Mass.) has earned the first award of the 2013 Gulls baseball season, as he was named Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) baseball player of the week on Monday by CCC Commissioner Gregg M. Kaye.

Oringer and the Gulls are coming off of a trip to the RussMatt Central Florida Invitational, where they posted a 5-3 record, with Oringer batting .364 (8-22) over the course of the last six games.

The sophomore was on base all week, hitting safely in five contests, including a double and taking four bases on balls. His most notable performance was a three-hit, two-RBI effort in Endicott's 11-3 victory over 2012 NCAA Championship participant Bowdoin. For the week, Oringer had six runs batted in and crossed the plate three times himself.

The Gulls turned in a record of 3-3 during this week, including wins over Framingham State and Trinity, also an NCAA Tournament team.

Endicott takes North Field for the first time this year on Tuesday afternoon with a 3:30 pm home opener against Worcester State.
