Lederman, Rischitelli, and Smith Headline Nine CCC All-Conference Honors

BEVERLY, Mass. - The Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) released its women's soccer all-conference awards on Friday morning and the Endicott women's soccer program saw four major award winners headline nine total All-CCC honors for the Gulls.

Leading the way were Hannah Lederman (Natick, Mass.), who was named CCC Defensive Player of the Year, Riley Rischitelli (North Brookfield, Mass.), who was named CCC Rookie of the Year, Megan Smith (Glastonbury, Conn.), who was named CCC Senior Scholar-Athlete, and head coach Jodi Kenyon, who was named CCC Coach of the Year.

Those four major honors were joined by First Team All-CCC honorees Lederman and Jaymie Caponigro (Swampscott, Mass.), and Second Team All-CCC honorees Rischitelli, Chloe Waldron (Harwinton, Conn.), and Gillian Magnier (Shelburne, Vt.).


CCC DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR | ALL-CCC FIRST TEAM

Hannah Lederman | Sr. | B | Natick, Mass. 

Lederman becomes the third student-athlete in program history to earn CCC Defensive Player of the Year honors, joining Kadrianna Letts '20, and Caitlin Peters '13. The back, who also was named to the All-CCC First Team, anchored an Endicott defense that allowed a league-low four goals in nine CCC matches, for an average of .44 goals/game. The back line held opponents to 76 shots all year in conference play, as the Gulls out-shot their competition 160-76 while recording six shutouts against CCC competition. To add to her defensive numbers, the back also produced career-high numbers across the board offensively, finishing with one goal and three assists for five points. Lederman has started in all 48 matches she has played in throughout her career.


CCC ROOKIE OF THE YEAR | ALL-CCC SECOND TEAM

Riley Rischitelli | Fr. | F | North Brookfield, Mass. 

Rischitelli becomes only the second CCC Rookie of the Year in program history, joining Endicott Hall of Famer Shannon Corliss '00 as the only two student-athletes to earn the honor for Endicott. Rischitelli also earned All-CCC Second Team honors following a freshman campaign in which she scored four goals and added three assists for 11 points in CCC matches. Overall, the North Brookfield, Mass. native finished with six goals and three assists for 15 points in the regular season. The forward scored two game-winning goals in CCC matches, while also producing a season-high three points (1G, 1A) in the team's 3-2 win over Western New England.


CCC SENIOR SCHOLAR-ATHLETE

Megan Smith | Gr. | M | Glastonbury, Conn. 

With her CCC Senior Scholar-Athlete honor, Smith becomes the fifth student-athlete in program history to earn the distinction. Smith joins Sarah Person '14, Endicott Hall of Famer Colleen Pepin '12, Katie Cederberg '06, and Sarah Cosselman '02 on the esteemed list.  A graduate student enrolled in Endicott's Nurse Practitioner program, Smith currently possesses a 4.0 GPA in graduate school after having earned a 3.73 GPA as an undergraduate in the rigorous Nursing program. The midfielder is a member of Phi Sigma National Honors Society and Sigma Theta Tau Chi Epsilon Chapter Honors Society for Nursing at Endicott and was a seven-time Dean's List honoree as an undergraduate. Smith completed clinical rotations at North Shore Medical Center, Boston Children's, Tewksbury Hospital, Winchester Hospital, Melrose-Wakefield Hospital and Beverly Hospital during her four years in Beverly. The Glastonbury, Conn. native has started all 15 matches on the season, adding one goal and one assist for three points.


CCC COACH OF THE YEAR

Jodi Kenyon

Head coach Jodi Kenyon, who is in her 17th season at the helm of the Blue and Green, has been selected as the CCC Coach of the Year by her peers for the seventh time in her illustrious career. Kenyon has previously earned the honor in 2006, 2013, 2009, 2016, 2017 and 2018, and joins Endicott Hall of Famer Dina Gentile as the only two coaches in program history to earn the honor. Under her guidance, the Gulls have now claimed the top seed in the CCC Tournament for the ninth time after going 10-3-2 overall and 8-1-0 in CCC play. During her 17 years as head coach, Endicott has gone 217-85-33 (.697) overall, while going 134-23-7 (.838) in CCC play. During that time, Endicott has won five CCC titles, has advanced to the NCAA DIII Tournament six times, has advanced to the Second Round five times, including one Sweet 16 run in 2006.


ALL-CCC FIRST TEAM 

Jaymie Caponigro | Gr. | M | Swampscott, Mass.

Caponigro earned the second All-CCC honor of her career as she was named to the All-CCC First Team in 2021, after being selected to the Second Team in 2019. The midfielder tied for the team-lead in goals with six overall on the season, while tying for the conference lead in goals with five against CCC competition. Throughout her time at the Nest, Caponigro has started in all 35 matches she has played in, and has tallied 33 points in those 35 matches. The graduate student finished the regular season with 11 points in CCC play, tied for fifth in the league. 


ALL-CCC SECOND TEAM 

Chloe Waldron | Sr. | M | Harwinton, Conn.

A staple in the Endicott midfield during her career at Endicott, Waldron started all 15 matches in 2021, and has started in 36 of the 52 matches she competed in during her four year career. As a senior in 2021, Waldron finished the regular season with four goals and two assists for 10 points, while scoring one goal against CCC competition. Her lone tally in CCC play was good for the game-winner in the team's 3-0 shutout of Nichols. Waldron's poise and presence in the midfield was instrumental in orchestrating an Endicott attack that finished with a league-best +15 goal differential in the regular season (19 GF - 4 GA).

ALL-CCC SECOND TEAM 

Gillian Magnier | So. | B | Shelburne, Vt.

The second of two Endicott backs to earn All-CCC Second Team accolades in 2021, Magnier started 14 of the 15 matches on the season, including eight of nine in CCC play. The Shelburne, Vt. native played an instrumental role for an Endicott defense that allowed a league-low four goals in nine CCC matches, for an average of .44 goals/game, and 11 goals against in 15 matches overall. The back line held opponents to 76 shots all year in conference play, as the Gulls out-shot their competition 160-76, while also out-shooting their opponents 256-155 overall on the season.
