Ruggiero Claims CCC Defensive Player of the Week Honors

BEVERLY, Mass. - For the second straight week, Endicott women's soccer keeper Jacqueline Ruggiero (Hyde Park, Mass.) has been named the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Defensive Player of the Week, as announced by the conference office today.

Ruggiero totaled 12 saves in the team's 1-1 week which was capped with a five-save shutout of Curry on Saturday. The shutout, which came in the Gulls' 2-0 win over the Colonels, was the second of the season for the junior, the first of which came in the team's season-opening 1-0 win over Springfield. The Hyde Park, Mass. native started the week with a seven-save effort in the team's 2-1 2OT loss to Lesley on Wednesday.

For the season, Ruggiero possesses a 0.69 goals against average and has made 23 saves.
