Gulls Earn NFHCA Academic Awards

BEVERLY, Mass. – The Endicott field hockey team has been honored with several academic awards from the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA).

As a program, the Gulls earned the NFHCA Division III National Academic Team Award for the 15th straight season by posting a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or higher during the fall semester.

Meg Arnette (Merrimac, Mass.) and Hannah Risko (Albany, N.Y.) also claimed Scholars of Distinction honors for achieving a GPA of 3.9 or higher in the fall semester.

Along with those honors, the duo was joined on the National Academic Squad by 16 of their teammates for obtaining a 3.3 GPA or better this past fall.

The list of Gulls included Natalie Anderson (Freeport, Maine), Jennifer Beardsley (Essex, Mass.), Claire Boncek (Hamden, Conn.), Blake Braman (Clinton, Conn.), Abby Carter (Richmond, Vt.), Janet Dickens (Merrimac, Mass.), Meaghan Hogan (Cheshire, Conn.), Meghan Lehouiller (Colchester, Vt.), Rachael Lemay (Westminster, Mass.), Celia Mastromattei (Westwood, Mass.), Sydney Poulin (Watertown, Mass.), Kathleen Reissfelder (Westwood, Mass.), Lily Tordone (Barnstable, Mass.), Nicole Williams (Grafton, N.H.), Brooke Yabroudy (Nashua, N.H.), and Maddy Young (Hingham, Mass.).

YEAR IN REVIEW

Endicott went 14-7 overall and 5-1 in league play en route to capturing its third-straight CCC Championship with a 1-0 double overtime win over conference rival the University of New England (UNE) on Saturday, November 6.

From there, the Gulls defeated Vassar, 2-1, in the first round of the NCAA Tournament before falling to No. 1 nationally ranked and now four-time defending NCAA Division III champion Middlebury in the second round.
