CCC CHAMPIONSHIP:  No. 2 Endicott Travels To No. 1 University Of New England This Saturday (3:30 PM)

BEVERLY, Mass. —  The second-seeded Endicott field hockey team travels to top-seeded University of New England (UNE) on Saturday, November 6 for the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Championship at 3:30 PM at Blue Bolt Field. Here's a preview of Saturday's championship game. 

FIVE THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW

  • The Gulls are 18-16 in the all-time series against the Nor'Easters, which includes Endicott falling to UNE in the regular season meeting between the two programs this year, 5-0 (10/16/21).
  • Either Endicott or UNE has been involved in the last 10 CCC Championship games dating back to 2010. In that span, they have faced off against each other five times with UNE winning three times and Endicott winning twice.
  • UNE swept conference play (6-0) in the regular season to earn the No. 1 seed in this year's tournament.
  • Taylor Farrin (Danvers, Mass.) and Lindsay Pych (West Milford, N.J.) both rank within the top two in the conference in save percentage, goals against, and goals-against average.
  • Endicott sits atop the CCC in shots (445), shots per game (24.7), and goals (61) this season. UNE has recorded 227 shots, 13.4 shots per game, and 24 goals in its 2021 campaign. Saturday's matchup features three of the top five goal scorers in the conference with Sydney Poulin (Watertown, Mass.) at No. 1 (16), Olivia Lampasona (Watertown Mass.) at No. 4 (12), and Jillian Lachapelle (Gilford, N.H) at No. 5 (11). 

WHAT'S NEXT 

The winner of Saturday's contest will earn an automatic bid into the NCAA Division III Field Hockey Tournament.
