Poulin Earns NFHCA All-America Second Team Honors

NFHCA ALL-AMERICA RELEASE

BEVERLY, Mass. — Endicott senior midfielder Sydney Poulin (Watertown, Mass.) has been named to the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) All-America Second Team, as announced by the organization on Tuesday.

This is Poulin's first career NFHCA All-America honor and sixth overall for the program.

Poulin is joined on the list by Emily Sawchuck '15 (Cumberland, Maine), Ashleigh Allen '17 (Glastonbury, Conn.), Emylee Wood '18 (Kensington, N.H.), and Kristen McCarthy '20 M'21 (Danvers, Mass.), who is the first and only two-time All-America First Team selection in program history.

In 21 games played this season (all starts), Poulin compiled 17 goals, including three game-winners, and two assists for 36 points.

Poulin ranked second in the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) in goals and points, and first in games, games started, and shots. She also was the top-scoring midfielder in the conference, both in goals and points.

Nationally, Poulin finished the year ranked No. 46 in goals per game (0.81) and No. 73 in points per game (1.71) among her D3 counterparts.

Meanwhile, as a team, Endicott ranked second in the CCC in goals per game (3.1) overall and in conference-only contests (4.3) due in large part to Poulin's play in transition.

The CCC Offensive Player of the Year was also named to the Synapse Sports All-America Second Team earlier this week giving her three All-America honors for her career.

YEAR IN REVIEW

Endicott went 14-7 overall and 5-1 in league play en route to capturing its third-straight CCC Championship with a 1-0 double overtime win over conference rival the University of New England (UNE) on Saturday, November 6.

From there, the Gulls defeated Vassar, 2-1, in the first round of the NCAA Tournament before falling to No. 1 nationally ranked and now four-time defending NCAA Division III champion Middlebury in the second round.
