CCC SEMIFINALS: No. 2 Endicott Downs No. 3 Western New England, 5-1

BEVERLY, Mass. — The second-seeded Endicott field hockey team dominated third-seeded Western New England, 5-1, in the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Tournament semifinal round on a chilly Thursday night at North Field. 

Claire Boncek (Hamden, Conn.), Jenna Seibold (Reading, Mass.), Meaghan Hogan (Chesire, Conn.), and Sydney Poulin (Watertown, Mass.) all found the back of the cage for the Gulls, respectively, in the triumphant victory. Seibold registered the first (14:06) and final (58:45) scores for Endicott in the game. 

Meanwhile, in cage for the Gulls, Taylor Farrin (Danvers, Mass.) accumulated four saves, extending her 2021 win record to double digits (10-6).  

BEYOND THE BOX 

  • Endicott is 24-6 in the all-time series versus Western New England. 
  • The Gulls took the lead over the Golden Bears in the all-time playoff series, 2-1. 
  • Seibold now ranks third on the team with 10 goals (Poulin 16 | Olivia Lampasona (Watertown, Mass.) 12)  
  • Hogan found Seibold twice to help Endicott convert the two tallies. She and Blake Braman (Clinton, Conn.) now lead the team with six assists this season. 
  • Poulin posted her 100th career point in the win.  
  • Endicott outscored Western New England 4-0 in the second half. 

WHAT'S NEXT 

Second-seeded Endicott (12-6) travels to top-seeded University of New England (11-6) in the CCC Championship game on Saturday, November 6 with a 3:30 PM start time at Blue Bolt Field.

Third-seeded Western New England sees its 2021 season come to a close at 11-6 overall.
