Field Hockey Takes No.4 Babson To The Brink, 2-1

Field Hockey Takes No.4 Babson To The Brink, 2-1

BEVERLY, Mass. — The Endicott field hockey team dropped a close game to No. 4 nationally ranked Babson College, 2-1, on a rainy Tuesday night at North Field.

Trailing 2-0 in the fourth period, the Gulls nearly cut the deficit in half on a penalty stroke at the 54:37 mark, but Beavers' senior goalie Cassidy Riley (Niantic, Conn.) made an outstanding stick save to keep the game scoreless, for the moment.

Endicott didn't waiver and roared back behind a tally from Sydney Poulin (Watertown, Mass.) at 57:42 to bring the Gulls within one.

From there, Babson tightened up defensively to secure the win.

On the other end, Taylor Farrin (Danvers, Mass.) was stellar in goal for the Gulls as the senior stopped nine shots in the contest (7-5 record).

BEYOND THE BOX

  • Babson has won 13 straight games in a row, which is tied for the most consecutive victories in program history (2015, 2019, 2021).
  • The Beavers are 6-1 on the road this year.
  • Poulin notched a new career-high in goals scored (14).
  • Farrin fell one save shy of tying her season-best of 10 against Western New England on October 9.
