Field Hockey Shuts Out Worcester State, 5-0

BEVERLY, Mass. — The Endicott field hockey team shut out Worcester State, 5-0, on Thursday night at North Field.

Endicott soared to an early 3-0 lead at the half via goals from Meaghan Hogan (Cheshire, Conn.), Rachael Lemay (Southport, Conn), and Olivia Lampasona (Watertown, Mass.) and never looked back.

From there, Lampasona tallied her second goal of the game with 40 seconds to play (59:20), while Sydney Poulin (Watertown, Mass.) followed with her 11th goal of the season with just five seconds remaining in regulation to punctuate the win.

Taylor Farrin (Danvers, Mass.) also stopped six shots for the Gulls in the victory (6-3).

BEYOND THE BOX 

  • Endicott is 2-0 in the all-time series versus Worcester State (11/11/06, 3-0). 
  • Lemay buried her first collegiate goal.
  • Poulin leads the Gulls in goals scored this season (11). 
  • Farrin recorded her second consecutive shutout and 23rd of her career (second all-time).   
  • The Gulls are on a six-game winning streak. 

WHAT'S NEXT 

Endicott (8-3, 3-0 CCC) will host the University of New England (8-4, 4-0 CCC) for first place in the Commonwealth Coast Conference standings on Saturday, October 16 at 1 PM. 

Worcester State (10-4) travels to Plymouth State (7-4) on Saturday, October 16 at 4 PM.
