BEVERLY, MA - The second-seeded Endicott College women's tennis team marched on in The Commonwealth Coast Conference Tournament Tuesday afternoon, defeating cross-town rival Gordon College, 9-0.
The Gulls made quick work of the Fighting Scots, sweeping their way through both doubles and singles competition. Endicott opened the sun soaked afternoon with three quick doubles victories, two of which came from All-TCCC Award winning duos in Nicole Breting (Woonsocket, RI/Mount St. Charles) and Lori Wardner (Wrentham, MA/King Philip Regional), and Kate Fisk (Westerly, RI/Westerly) and Jenna Carme (Greenfield, MA/Greenfield).
In singles play, All-TCCC First Team selection Nicole Breting got the Gulls started with a 6-3, 7-5 win. Second Team Singles recipient Lori Wardner also notched a victory, 6-2, 7-5 over Gordon's Angela Langlais (Thomaston, CT/Thomaston). Kate Fisk, Jenna Carme, Alyson Boehm (Lowell, MA/Lowell) and Geneive Sherman (York, ME/York) all secured singles wins on the afternoon.
With the win, Endicott advances into the Semifinals of The Commonwealth Coast Conference Tournament. The Gulls will host No. 3 seed Colby-Sawyer College on Wednesday, October 24th at 2:00 PM in Beverly, Massachusetts.
