PROVIDENCE, RI - The Endicott College women's tennis team snapped Rhode Island College's 19-match winning streak with a, 7-2, victory on Thursday afternoon in Providence, RI.
Endicott took five of six in singles action and two of three in doubles play. Sophomores Nicole Breting (Woonsocket, RI) and Lori Wardner (Wrentham, MA) won at No. 1 and No. 2 singles, respectively, and teamed up to win at No. 1 doubles. RIC sophomore Julie Bannon (Narragansett, RI) kept her personal win streak alive, despite bumping up to No. 3 singles from her usual No. 4 spot. Bannon is 7-0 this season and remains undefeated in her collegiate singles career with a 24-0 mark.
Kate Fiske (Westerly, RI/Westerly) and Jenna Carme (Greenfield, MA/Greenfield) were dominant in their doubles contest, winning 8-0. Alyson Boehm (Lowell, MA/Lowell) topped her singles opponent, 6-4 and 7-5.
With the victory, Endicott improves to 7-3 overall (3-2 TCCC). The Gulls return to action on Saturday, September 29th at 12:00 noon as they travel to Milton, MA to square-off with Curry College.
