CCC SEMIFINALS: No. 3 Endicott Travels to No. 2 Roger Williams on Thursday Night (7 PM)

BEVERLY, Mass. — The third-seeded Endicott women's basketball program (14-4) will travel to No. 2 Roger Williams (15-3) this Thursday at 7:00 PM in the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Tournament semifinal round at the Recreation Center Gymnasium.

THE MATCHUP/SERIES HISTORY: Endicott is 18-16 in the all-time series against Roger Williams. The Gulls split the regular season against the Hawks with a 66-55 loss (1/13/18) and a 62-60 victory (2/17/18).

HOW THEY GOT HERE: Endicott defeated No. 6 Curry, 49-32, in the CCC Tournament Quarterfinals (RECAP | BOX SCORE). Roger Williams topped No. 7 Gordon, 74-36, in the quarterfinals (RECAP | BOX SCORE).

SCOUTING ENDICOTT: The Gulls have won nine straight games dating back to January 24, 2018. That streak is the program's longest winning streak since the 2008-09 season (14 games, 1/15/09-2/26/09).

As a team, Endicott ranks among the CCC's best in the following categories: points per game (4th, 63.0), field goal percentage (1st, 40.5), three-point field goals made (5th, 139), three-point field goal percentage (tie 1st, 31.4), free throws made (10th, 248), free throw percentage (tie 2rd, 71.7), rebounds per game (9th, 36.7), assists per game (2nd, 14.2), steals per game (3rd, 8.3), blocks per game (2nd, 5.8), and fewest points allowed per game (4th, 56.3).

Individually, the Gulls feature three student-athletes in the top-15 for scoring included Emily Pratt (Gardner, Mass.), Hannah Kiernan (Wenham, Mass.), and Cassandra Stapelfeld (Brookline, N.H.). Pratt ranks No. 8 at 11.9 points per game, while Kiernan is No. 13 (10.6) and Stapelfeld is positioned 15th overall (10.4). Meanwhile, senior guard Gabriella Coppola (Watertown, Mass.) is No. 2 in the CCC in assists per game at 4.4.

SCOUTING ROGER WILLIAMS: The Hawks are 13-1 at home this season and 9-1 in their last 10 matchups. 

Among all CCC teams, Roger Williams ranks highly in the following categories: points per game (2nd, 64.2), field goal percentage (2nd, 39.6), three-point field goals made (3rd, 147), three-point field goal percentage ( tie1st, 31.4), free throws made (5th, 293), free throw percentage (7th, 66.0), rebounds per game (2nd, 42.8), assists per game (1st, 15.3), steals per game (tie 5th, 7.6), blocks per game (1st, 6.2), and fewest points allowed per game (1st, 53.1).

Individually, the Colonels have two student-athletes ranked inside the top-15 in scoring in Mariah Nicholas (Acushnet, Mass.) and Anna Walther (Northampton, Mass.). Nicholas ranks second in points per game with 16.7, while Walther is fifth with 13.6 points per game. 

Teagan Dunn (Burlington, Conn.) ranks second in the CCC in rebounds per game with 9.2 and Nicholas leads the league in blocks per game with 2.2. 

WHAT'S AT STAKE

The winner between Endicott and Roger Williams will advance to the CCC Tournament championship on Saturday, February 24 at a time and place to be determined later.
