BEVERLY, Mass. – The Endicott women's basketball team was handed a 66-55 loss by Roger Williams this afternoon at MacDonald Gymnasium.
Both teams kept it close in the first quarter, with Roger Williams taking a slight 16-9 lead heading into the second frame.
The Hawks then extended their lead to 32-15 throughout the second quarter and never looked back for the remainder of the game.
Roger Williams maintained a 44-30 lead after the third period and was able to hold onto the 66-55 victory.
Cassandra Stapelfeld (Brookline, N.H.) led Endicott with 10 points, while Emily Pratt (Gardner, Mass.) recorded a team-high 11 rebounds throughout the contest.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Pratt, Catie Lipscomb (West Springfield, Mass.), and Mikaela Rogers (Haverhill, Mass.) each tallied nine points for the Gulls.
- Gabriella Coppola (Watertown, Mass.) finished with a season-high nine assists.
- Lipscomb also added eight rebounds and a team-high three steals.
FOR THE FOES
- Mariah Nicholas (Acushnet, Mass.) recorded a game-high 30 points, while Anna Walther (Northampton, Mass.) added 16 points.
- Nicholas also led the team in rebounds with 11.
- Walther and Sam Mancinelli (Peabody, Mass.) each had two steals.
- The Hawks held the 47-39 rebound advantage.
WHAT'S NEXT
Endicott (7-6, 5-2 CCC) travels to Salve Regina on Tuesday, Jan. 16 at 5:00 p.m. Roger Williams (11-3, 5-2 CCC) hosts Gordon for a 5:30 p.m. contest on Tuesday, Jan. 16.
