BEVERLY, Mass. – The Endicott women’s basketball team has received a bid to the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) New England Tournament for the eighth consecutive year. The Gulls are seeded third in the eight-team tournament and will host \#6 Clark University at 8:00 pm on Wednesday night at MacDonald Gymnasium.

The Gulls enter the ECAC tournament with a record of 17-11 and are coming off their third trip to the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) tournament finals in program history. On the way, the Gulls upset the top-seeded Nor’easters of University of New England by a 53-49 score before falling to Salve Regina 77-61 in Saturday’s final.

The Cougars of Clark University (16-10) were defeated 65-55 in the New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) tournament by WPI. Clark and Endicott have already met once this year, with Clark defeating the Gulls 57-47 in the consolation game of the Brandeis Judges Classic on November 20th.

The Gulls boast a trio of sophomore all-conference performers in Samantha Crough (Cohassett, Mass.), Jordan Ferland (Charlestown, N.H.) and Jennifer White (Lisbon, N.H.) that combined to average more than half (38.6) of Endicott's 58.2 points per game.

Clark meanwhile rides their trio of sophomore stars in Ashleigh Condon (Hull, Mass.), Megan Grondin (Cumberland, Maine) and Emily Reilly (Marlboro, Mass.) – the NEWMAC's fourth, third and eighth leading scorers, respectively.

Endicott has been to the semi-finals of the ECAC tournament three times, including last year when they were also seeded third in the tournament. The Gulls defeated Mass. College of Liberal Arts 73-66 before falling by a point (55-54) to \#2 University of Southern Maine. Endicott has never made an appearance in the ECAC finals.

Other matchups in the eight-team tournament include top seed Keene State (17-9) playing host to eighth-seeded Regis College (21-5). No. 2 Smith (20-5) will entertain seventh-seeded Rivier College (18-9), while fourth seeded Colby-Sawyer (21-7) hosts fifth-seeded Suffolk (18-9).
