BOSTON, MA - The Emmanuel College women's basketball team upended Endicott College, 73-55, Saturday behind La Teisha Johnson's (Dorchester, MA) 13 points, 17 rebounds and eight blocks.
The Saints scored 46 of their 73 points in the paint and Johnson finished just two blocks shy of her first career triple-double. Emmanuel moved to 5-2 while the Gulls dropped to 4-3.
Sophomore forward Sara Doherty (Somerville, MA/Arlington Catholic) put home a team-high 13 points while senior guard Liz Yuneman (Middle Village, NY/St. Francis Prep) chipped in 12 points for EC, which got nine points from freshman Hayley Janelle (Madbury, NH/Oyster River).
Emmanuel countered with senior forward Alyssa McCoy (Washington, D.C.), who also posted a double-double for Emmanuel with 15 points and 10 boards. Senior guard Molly Forbes (N. Berwick, ME) scored a season-high 14 points, while sophomore point guard Jade Paez (Bronx, NY) hit for 11 points and dished out nine assists.
The Saints will travel to California over winter break for two non-conference games while Endicott is off until the new year.
