BEVERLY, MA - Endicott College put up 52 points in the first half en-route to a 76-50 victory over Curry College Saturday afternoon in Commonwealth Coast Conference action.
The Gulls, who have won 10 of their last 11 games, shot 55 percent from the floor, including 6-of-11 from beyond the arc to improve to 15-7 overall and 11-2 in the CCC. Curry dropped to 6-16 overall and 5-10 in the CCC.
The hosts jumped out to 52-29 halftime lead on the sharp-shooting of senior guard Jodi Brown (Coventry, RI/Coventry), who pumped in a season-high 22 points, including 17 in the first 20 minutes action, while senior guard Liz Yuneman scored all of her 13 points in the first half. Brown's 22 points on 4-of-4 shooting from three-point land was the highest scoring output from any Endicott player this season.
Brown also grabbed six rebounds - three offensive - dished out four assists and came away with two steals in 24 minutes.
Curry sophomore guard Bonnie Hirtle (Quincy, MA/Quincy) and freshman forward Christina Sancinito (Wakefield, MA/Wakefield) put home 11 points apiece for the Colonels. Sancinito had six rebounds and had two blocks and three steals while Sarah Walker (Colchester, VT/Colchester), Heather King (West Newbury, MA/Pentucket Regional) and Jill Bixby (Greenville, RI/St. Andrew's) put home six points apiece for Curry.
Freshman forward Nicole Young (Rockland, MA/Cardinal Spellman) chipped in eight points and seven rebounds, while senior forward Sarah Voigt (Kingston, NH/Sanborn Regional) contributed four points and eight boards. Freshman Nicole Duchesne (Plaistow, NH/Central Catholic), sophomore Rachael Bradley (Lynn, MA/St. Mary's) and sophomore Aubrey Drugan (Salem, NH/Bishop Guertin) all had six points in the win.
Endicott will host Wentworth Tuesday night (6) while Anna Maria will travel to Curry Tuesday.
