BEVERLY, Mass. - For the second straight season, the Endicott men's volleyball team will head into the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Tournament as the bracket's top seed as it was announced today by league Assistant Commissioner Robb Modica.
After defeating Newbury 3-0 to end their conference schedule, Endicott (20-8, 12-0 NECC) completed back-to-back undefeated seasons as members of the NECC. The Gulls also achieved their sixth 20-win season in program history and their first under head coach George Chapell.
Endicott will be matched up against the #4 seed Southern Vermont (11-20, 6-6 NECC) in the first of two Friday night semifinal games held at Endicott's MacDonald Gymnasium starting at 6:00 pm. The second semifinal will be #2 Daniel Webster (15-11, 10-2 NECC) versus #3 Elms (14-13, 7-5 NECC) with first serve scheduled for 8:00 pm.
Endicott will also play host to the championship match on Saturday afternoon, 2:00 pm.
The Blue and Green swept both matches with Southern Vermont this spring, both by a score of 3-0. It has been five weeks since their last meeting back on March 2nd.
