NECC Player of the Week Netherton keeps Endicott undefeated in-conference

BEVERLY, Mass. - The New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) awarded Endicott men's volleyball junior middle Travis Netherton (Waukegan, Ill.) Player of the Week honors after leading the Blue and Green to a 2-0 week and keeping them atop the league standings.

Netherton averaged 3.5 kills per set while hitting at a .586 clip through two victories over NECC foe Southern Vermont this week.  He totaled seven blocks, one solo and six assisted, while making four digs.

In Endicott's first win of the week over the Mountaineers, a straight-set (25-20, 25-19, 25-14) victory, Netherton struck a match-high 11 kills with just two errors on 15 attempts for a .600 hitting percentage.  Defensively at the net Netherton totaled five blocks and the Gulls had 9.5 total team blocks.  This past Saturday at home, Netherton followed up with another double-digit kill effort against Southern Vermont with 10 kills as Endicott won again 3-0 (25-16, 25-20, 25-17).

Netherton and the Gulls (11-4, 6-0 NECC) match up against fellow league unbeaten Daniel Webster (9-6, 5-0 NECC) on Tuesday night at 7:00 pm in Nashua, New Hampshire.  Endicott and Daniel Webster met earlier this season in non-conference action at the Live Free or Die Invitational as Netherton's 17 kills paced the Blue and Green to a 3-1 (28-26, 25-16, 25-27, 25-20) triumph.
