Men’s Tennis Downs Western New England, 6-1

BEVERLY, Mass. — The Endicott men's tennis team took down Western New England (WNE), 6-1, at the South Campus Courts in Conference of New England (CNE) play on Friday evening.

The Blue and Green swept the doubles flight to take the early point and carried that momentum the rest of the way.

No. 3 Eric Scalici (Essex Fells, N.J.) and Brennan Drolet (North Smithfield, R.I.) claimed an 8-1 triumph, while No. 1 George Danes (Old Lyme, Conn.) and Aaron Terpko (Shrewsbury, Mass.) turned in an 8-3 victory. 

Patrick Johnson (Beverly, Mass.) / Ethan Hopman (Summit, N.J.) completed the sweep via an 8-4 win at No. 2.

In singles action, Conrad Kadel (Heidelberg, Germany) (No. 1, 6-0, 6-1), Danes (No. 2, 6-1, 6-1), and Spencer Smith (Albany, N.Y.) (No. 4, 6-4, 6-1) secured the win for the Gulls.

No. 3 Hopman (6-3, 2-6, 10-8) and No. 6 Drolet (6-1, 4-6, 10-4) took home victories to showcase the depth of the Endicott lineup.

BEYOND THE BOX 

  • The Gulls have won six straight against the Golden Bears since 4/7/2022. 
  • The Blue and Green picked up their first win at The Nest in 2024-25. 
  • Danes/Terpko generated their first victory in the No. 1 slot.
