WEYMOUTH, Mass. — The Endicott men's tennis team defeated Emerson, 6-1, in non-conference action on Saturday night at the Weymouth Tennis Club.
Emerson started off the match by earning the doubles point with victories at the No. 1 (7-5) and No. 2 (6-3) flights.
However, the Gulls responded in singles play, sweeping all six spots to run away with the win.
Conrad Kadel (Heidelberg, Germany), Aaron Terpko (Shrewsbury, Mass.), and Eric Scalici (Essex Fells, N.J.) made quick work of their opponents at No. 1 (6-2, 6-3), No. 4 (6-2, 6-4), and No. 5 (6-4, 6-4), respectively.
The remaining singles flights featured some gritty victories from George Danes (Old Lyme, Conn.), Ethan Hopman (Summit, N.J.), and Spencer Smith (Albany, N.Y.) at No. 2 (4-6, 6-4, 6-3), No. 3 (6-0, 7-6 (7-3)), and No. 6 (4-6, 6-3, 6-2).

"Great win by the guys, it was a hard fought battle," said Endicott men's tennis head coach Dejan Stankovic. "We bounced back quite well after a slow start in doubles."

Endicott (2-2) hosts No. 3 Tufts on Sunday, March 9 at the Bass River Tennis Club (6 PM). Emerson (2-6) plays Ohio Wesleyan on March 9 in Orlando, Florida.
