Beverly, MA-- Junior Parker Sowles and freshman Josh Gilbert were both recognized by the Commonwealth Coast Conference for their impressive play on the lacrosse field.
Sowles (Cumberland, ME) was named Commonwealth Coast Co-Player of the Week as announced by the Conference for his outstanding performance on the lacrosse field last week.
Sowles' seven-point day helped the Gulls improve their record to 4-1 with a home win against Southern Maine. He had six ground balls to go with his three goals and four assists.
"Parker played defensive midfielder last season and not a lot of offense," Head coach Sean Quirk said. "He has really worked on his game in the off season and has become a tremendous asset on the offensive end of the field and in turn, has become one of the better players in the conference and certainly on the team."
Freshman Josh Gilbert (Simsbury, CT) was named Commonwealth Coast Rookie of the Week as announced by the Conference. Gilbert garners the award for the second consecutive week after scoring three goals in only 32 minutes versus Southern Maine.
