Beverly, MA--The Endicott Gulls continued their strong start to the 2005 season with a convincing 22-1 win over the visiting MIT Engineers.
The Gulls scored early and often to build up an 11-0 lead at the half. Junior Parker Sowles struck first at 12:59 off a feed from junior Kevin Lally. The Engineers scored first in the second half on a shot by senior Isaac Taylor. Endicott responded with 11 unanswered goals to finish off the second half.
Leading the Gulls offense was senior Burt Fahy with seven goals. Lally finished with one goal and nine assists, senior Sam Chidester netted five, Sowles finished with three goals and two assists, and sophomore Josh Gilbert also added a pair. Also scoring were sophomores Dan Ryan and Andrew McGarty, and freshmen Lucien Bolduc and Alex Marshall.
Endicott's defense was solid throughout the game. Junior Ryan Walsh posted 9 saves to anchor the defense. Sophomore Ryan Tobin scooped up 11 ground balls.
Endicott (2-0) will face \#7 Tufts University, Friday at 5pm. MIT (0-2) faces Wentworth Institute of Technology at home on Thursday.
