NHL’s Edmonton Oilers Sign Logan Day To Entry-Level Contract

BEVERLY, Mass. – Former Endicott men's ice hockey student-athlete and All-American Logan Day (Seminole, Fla.) has signed a one-year entry-level contract with the National Hockey League's (NHL) Edmonton Oilers.

Day, the 2017-18 Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Player of the Year, recently completed his first professional season with the American Hockey League's (AHL) Bakersfield Condors.

Day led all Condors' defensemen in scoring with 34 points (7G, 27A), 14 penalty minutes and a +14 plus-minus rating in 64 games. Day also added a game-winning goal to his stat line in the postseason to help the Condors reach the second round of the Calder Cup playoffs.

In 2017-18, Day appeared in 10 games with Bakersfield at the end of the season, posting two goals, four penalty minutes and a -1 plus-minus.

Day signed an AHL contract with the Condors in the summer of 2018 after starring at Endicott for two years from 2016-18. While with the Gulls, Day helped lead the program to their first-ever conference championship and a program record 24 wins in 2016-17. Overall in his career at Endicott, Day helped the program to a 42-10-5 (.781) mark behind 30 goals and 48 assists for 78 points in 56 games played.

Day currently sits atop the leaderboard among all defenseman in program history in the following categories: most goals scored, goals per game, game-winning goals, power play goals, short-handed goals, assists, assists per game, points, and points per game.
