Endicott Routs Western New England, 11-0

WEST SPRINGFIELD, Mass. — The Endicott men's ice hockey team defeated Western New England University, 11-0, in conference action on Friday night at the Olympia Ice Center.

Endicott jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first period then poured it on in the second with five goals coming from Ross Olsson (Billerica, Mass.), Jason Kalinowski (Stamford, Conn.), Carter Horwitz (Tustin, Calif.), Ryan Dougherty (Sterling Heights, Mich.), and Josh Bowes (Edmonton, Alberta, Canada) to run away with the contest. 

Conor O'Brien (Pinellas Park, Fla.) also made 36 saves in net to earn his first career win (1-0-1) and record his first collegiate shutout.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • Endicott is 8-0-0 all-time against Western New England.
  • The Gulls have outscored the Golden Bears 58-11 in the all-time series.
  • Ricky Carballo (Keller, Texas) netted his first collegiate goal at 16:33 of the first period.
  • Endicott's 11-goal game ranks tied for second all-time in a single game in program history.
