SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – After an impressive 2-1 week, the Endicott field hockey team has had two of their players selected for recognition by the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC). Melissa Enright (York Beach, Maine) has been honored as the Offensive Player of the Week, while Taylor Teixeira (Exeter, N.H.) was named Defensive Player of the Week.
 
Endicott erupted for two conference wins this week, beating Gordon 4-1 before shocking the \#19 team in the country and previously undefeated University of New England with a 5-0 victory. The Gulls pulled into a tie for the conference lead with UNE, as both squads have a 5-1 CCC mark.
 
Enright, a junior forward, had a stick in six of the Gulls’ 12 goals in a 2-1 week for the team. She opened the week with a stunning performance, posting a hat trick in the  road victory over league rival Gordon. Enright tallied her fourth goal of the week in a tough 5-3 road loss to non-conference opponent Bridgewater State. She continued to be a key offensive player scoring a pair of goals as the Gulls handed UNE its first loss of the season. Enright now has eight goals to go with two assists on the season.
 
Junior goalkeeper Taylor Teixeira saw 195:40 minutes of action this week and turned away 17 shots while posting a goals against average of 2.30. Her most impressive performance of the week came in the victory over UNE, in which she made five saves and collected her second shutout of the season. Teixeira has made 102 stops this season and carries a 2.87 goals against average this year.
 
The Gulls are slated to play this week against Salve Regina in another conference matchup. The game has been moved from Wednesday to Thursday due to weather, and will still be played at 4:00 pm in Beverly.
