Todd Parsons Accepts Head Coaching Position At Curry College

Todd Parsons Accepts Head Coaching Position At Curry College

BEVERLY, Mass. — Endicott football assistant head coach/offensive coordinator Todd Parsons has resigned from his position with the Gulls to accept the head coaching position at Curry College, effective immediately.

"Todd has been a valuable asset to our program over the last three years, both on and off the field. His contributions to the program, staff, and student-athletes have been impactful and tremendous," said Endicott football head coach Paul McGonagle. "I'd like to personally thank Todd for his time and dedication over the past three years and wish him the best of luck. Todd has earned this opportunity through many years of hard work and dedication to his profession."

Parsons greatly influenced the program's return to championship form over his three-plus years (2019-22) on staff. During that span, Endicott produced a 17-5 overall record (.773), an 11-2 mark in conference (.846), and hoisted two championships trophies.

"I want to thank everyone in the Endicott community for a memorable three years. I especially want to thank Dr. Wylie and head coach Paul McGonagle for giving me the opportunity to join the Endicott Athletics department and the football program. My time here with them, the other coaches, and the student-athletes helped prepare me, more than anything, to be able to take this step in my career," said Parsons. "I'm extremely excited to be joining the Curry Athletics department and look forward to building the same kind of relationships that I have at Endicott with several members of the Curry community, coaches, and student-athletes."

In 2019, as the team's offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach, the Gulls captured their first-ever New England Bowl title with a 52-10 win over Dean College at home on November 23.

Endicott, who went 9-2 overall and 6-1 in league play that season, ranked first among all Commonwealth Coast Football (CCC Football) schools in points per game (41.5), total points (457), red zone offense (.860), and team passing efficiency (162.13).

Nationally, the Gulls were positioned No. 32 in third down conversion percentage (.459), No. 21 in red zone offense, No. 23 in team passing efficiency, and No. 53 in total offense (4,561 yards/No. 2 in league).

Parsons' efforts were rewarded with a promotion to assistant head coach/offensive coordinator at the end of the season.

His leadership proved to be more important than ever only a few months later as the program navigated through the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic together.

As a staff, Endicott's coaches remained connected with all members of the team throughout the entire year in a variety of ways including team meetings, individual meetings, and check-ins over Zoom and FaceTime, among other creative methods.

Despite the many obstacles, Parsons and the rest of the staff recruited and retained more than 95 student-athletes through the 2020 and 2021 calendar years who helped the Gulls capture their first-ever CCC Football championship this past fall.

The 2021 season (8-1 overall/5-1 league) featured marquee wins over St. Lawrence (27-14), WPI (28-21), and conference rival Western New England (45-21) before culminating in the Gulls' 37-3 championship-clinching victory over Nichols on November 13.

Endicott also hosted its first NCAA Tournament home game in program history on November 20 against No. 18/20 nationally ranked RPI, but, ultimately fell to the Engineers, 20-14 in the matchup (third NCAA Tournament appearance overall).

Overall on the season, the Gulls ranked second in the conference in points (301) and third in points per game (27.4). In games against league opponents, Endicott was second in points per game (28.8).

Parsons' other accolades include coaching Joe Kalosky (Plymouth, Conn.) to Co-Offensive Player of the Year and All-Conference First Team accolades in 2019.

His offensive schemes also aided Shane Aylward (Tewksbury, Mass.) in being named the league's Offensive Rookie of the Year and an All-Conference First Team selection in 2021 behind the play of All-League Second Team quarterback Mike Ingraffia (Kings Park, N.Y.).
