BANGOR, Maine – The Endicott football team defeated Husson University, 24-17, on Saturday afternoon in conference action at the Winkin Sports Complex.
Tied 17-17 late in the third quarter, Shane Aylward (Tewksbury, Mass.) went untouched into the end zone for a 16-yard TD after running a perfect post route from the left slot to give Endicott a 24-17 advantage with 15-seconds on the clock.
From there, the Gulls held Husson to a 1-for-6 showing on third down conversions (1-for-2 4th down) to secure the victory.
Endicott also saw Tyler Bridge (Wells, Maine) and Geoffrey Ingrando (Everett, Mass.) produce go-ahead scores in the second quarter (5-yard run, 12:56, 7-3 EC | 27-yard catch, 1:56, 14-10 EC), while Ryan Smith (Glastonbury, Conn.) rounded out the scoring with a 33-yard field goal in the third (17-10).
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Endicott leads the all-time series 2-1 (back-to-back wins, 10/26/19, 41-16).
- Bridge produced career-highs in rushing attempts (27), yards (100), and touchdowns (1) in today's win.
- Aylward hauled in his fifth career touchdown, which leads all Endicott receivers this season.
- Tim Russell (Stoneham, Mass.) tied his career-high in tackles with 13 total (9 solo, 4 assisted, 1.5 TFL) to go along with his fifth career interception.
- His nine solo tackles are also a career-high.
- Sam Opont (Bridgeport, Conn.) had 10 tackles (3 solo, 7 assisted, 1.0 TFL), which marks his second game this season with 10 or more stops.
- Michael LeFebre (Methuen, Mass.) picked off his second pass this season and fifth career.
- As a defensive unit, the Gulls compiled two interceptions, one fumble recovery – via Freddy Gabin (North Andover, Mass.) – and four pass breakups.
- Tyler Davis (Bethel, Conn.) had two of the pass breakups and nine tackles total (5 solo, 4 assisted, 1.0 TFL).

Endicott (6-1, 3-0 CCC Football) visits Salve Regina on Saturday, October 23 at 12 PM. Husson (4-2, 1-1 CCC Football) hosts the University of New England next Saturday at 1 PM.
