D3FOOTBALL.COM WEEKLY RELEASE | ALL-TIME HONOREES LIST
BEVERLY, Mass. – Endicott senior linebacker Tim Russell (Stoneham, Mass.) has been named to the D3football.com Team of the Week, as announced by the organization earlier today.
In Endicott's 32-29 loss to Catholic last weekend, Russell had a career-best two interceptions and compiled seven tackles (four solo) to help the Gulls in their comeback bid.
Today's announcement marks Russell's first career D3football.com Team of the Week award and second weekly award in the last two days.
Yesterday, Russell was named the Commonwealth Coast Football (CCC Football) Co-Defensive Player of the Week for his efforts last Saturday versus Catholic.
The Team of the Week, presented by Scoutware, is D3football.com's weekly honor roll, which is currently in its 23rd season of recognizing the top performance at each position from the previous week. Student-athletes are nominated by their school's sports information directors.
Russell was one of 26 student-athletes chosen to the team out of 199 entries this week. Overall, Russell is the sixth student-athlete in program history to be chosen to the D3football.com Team of the Week and eighth overall selection (two student-athletes with two honors each).
